I’m Joe Dunning, Certified Professional Life Coach, North Carolina Peer Support Specialist, and founder of Coastal Clarity. Since beginning my own recovery in 2014, I’ve spent more than a decade supporting individuals in addiction recovery, mental health, and personal growth.

What makes Coastal Clarity different is the combination of lived experience, professional training, and a collaborative approach. I provide life coaching, sober coaching, mindset coaching, and intervention services during the difficult times when families and loved ones need guidance and support from a professional. My role is to help create a clear path forward while offering compassion, structure, and accountability.

I also work closely with treatment providers, families, and support networks to ensure clients have the tools, structure, and motivation to thrive. My down-to-earth style, paired with evidence-based methods—from 12-Step programs to mindset frameworks and goal planning—keeps coaching both practical and personalized.
